Welcome to the Department of Tourism, Recreation and Sport Management!

In the TRSM Department, students, staff, and faculty study the role and impact of leisure services, including tourism and sports, on individuals, society, and the environment.

“TRSM improves the understanding of factors that lead individuals, families and industry to value and benefit from tourism, recreation, parks, and sport, and thus improves the quality of life.”

TRSM offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees. At the undergraduate level, degree specializations for the Bachelor of Science. in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism (RPT) include the following:

    1. Natural Resource Recreation Management
    2. Recreation and Event Management
    3. Recreation Programming
    4. Tourism and Hospitality Management

A Bachelor of Science in Tourism, Event and Recreation Management (BSTRM) is also offered starting Fall 2014. At the degree specialization for the Bachelor of Science in Tourism, Event and Recreation Management include the following:

    1. Tourism and Hospitality Management
    2. Event Management
    3. Recreation Management

A Bachelor of Science in Sport Management (SM) is also offered.

At the graduate level, students can earn a Master of Science in Sport Management or a Master of Science in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism. The four concentrations for the RPT degree include:

    1.  Natural Resource Recreation
    2. Tourism and Commercial Recreation
    3. Recreation Administration and Supervision
    4. Campus Recreation Programming and Administration

Doctoral degrees are offered as a Doctor of Philosophy in Health and Human Performance with concentrations in Sport Management or Recreation, Parks, and Tourism. The RPT degree has two emphases to choose from:

    1. Tourism
    2. Natural Resource Recreation
