John Egberts joined the College of Health and Human Performance in 2004 as an undergraduate student in Exercise and Sport Sciences. After completing his Master’s degree in Sport Management, he began working as the Assistant Director of the Florida Traffic and Bicycle Safety Education Program (FTBSEP). In addition to working with the FTBSEP, John is a PhD student (Sport Management) and conducts research in the area of safety and risk management in sport and physical activity programs. He works extensively with school districts, counties, health departments, Safe Routes to School personnel, teachers, and others to coordinate and conduct teacher training workshops, and improve pedestrian/bicycle safety throughout Florida. John is certified by the League of American Bicyclists as a League Cycling Instructor and Master Instructor.
