Biography:

Estefania Basurto M.S.  is a Ph.D. student  in the Department of Tourism, Recreation, and Sport Management of the University of Florida, Master in Planning and Tourism Management of the Universidad de Alicante Spain 2012  and Bachelor in Administration of Hotels and Tourism Enterprises of the Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil in Ecuador.  She was awarded with the SENESCYT scholarship funded by the Ecuadorian Government in 2014, and is an Associated Professor of the Tourism Department of the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí, Ecuador-Manta where she has been in charge of the academic coordination and budget planning. Currently her area of research has focused on tourism destination’s resilience to reduce the impact of disasters and reduce the time taken in the recovery process.
