Hongping Zhang is a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Tourism, Recreation and Sport Management and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Tourism Management under the advisement of Dr. Heather Gibson. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management from Shanghai Normal University at 2012. She then came to the U.S. and pursued a Master of Science in Recreation, Sport, and Tourism at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a specialization in Tourism.
Hongping’s current research is focusing on cross-cultural adaptation in leisure and tourism context among international students. She has also studied sport event tourists’ experience and place attachment. Additionally, she has presented her research at numerous regional and international conferences including the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) Leisure Research Symposium, World Research Summit for Tourism and Hospitality, the Annual Conference of the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM).
