Mona Mirehie is a doctoral student and a graduate assistant at the University of Florida. She graduated from Allameh Tabatabai University in Iran with a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management. Later, in 2012 she completed her Master’s degree in Tourism Marketing Management at Semnan University in Iran. Mona had been working in tourism industry for several years in Iran, first as a holiday planner and sales representative of timeshare resorts; later, as a travel consultant and also as an independent tour operator. Also, Mona had been working as a Spanish language instructor at the Department of Tourism of Allameh Tabatabai University in Iran for two years.
Currently, Mona is working under advisement of Professor Heather Gibson. Her research interests include active sport tourism, sociological impacts of event sport tourism and sociology of travel with a focus on gender.
