Biography:

Stavros Triantafyllidis is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Sport Management in the Department of Tourism, Recreation and Sport Management under the advisement of Dr. Kyriaki Kaplanidou.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from the University of Aegean in Greece in 2012 and went on to receive his Master of Science Degree in Sport Administration from the University of Miami in 2014.

Stavros was a professional volleyball and beach volleyball player. He had worked in the sport industry for several years, specifically related to beach volleyball as an event manager and a trainer. He also served in the military while in Greece. During his infantry he was selected in Supreme Hellenic Military Sports Council and became a member of Hellenic Armed Forces volleyball team in Greece.

His research will focus on the sustainability issues of sport events with relation to participants, athletes and hosting cities.
